The girls and I were so lucky to be treated on a trip to Jackson Hole, WY to visit my brother for his big 40! The 5 of us ventured out there and what we saw was breath-taking. What a fabulous time of year to visit. The evenings are cool, the air is fresh and the mountain view is gorgeous! We enjoyed, hiking, visiting Yellowstone, riding the alpine slide, taking a horseback riding lesson and lots of animal sightings (bison, elk, deer, black bear, and even a moose!) There are so many pictures, click here to view all of them. Such a fun trip! Happy Birthday Uncle Bryan and thank you Mom and Dad!
The girls were at a birthday party today, so Erik and I decided to head out to get Ty's first haircut. I was tired of tucking his hair behind his ears! He fell asleep in the car on the way there which made him super relaxed. He didn't fuss one bit. He looks so cute...what a big boy!
Two meets down, three to go! The girls are doing great their first year out. I'm not sure I agree with all the coaching calls, but I'm not the coach, right? Those days are done. I try to give them pointers, but do they really care coming from me? Anna was super impressed when I told her I used to swim the 400 IM and mile. She said "Wow, you're coach must have thought you were really fast." So cute. Swimming was my life for so many years. I really want my kids to enjoy it (and secretly, be really good at it!). I have always assumed for some strange reason that we would have a swimmer in the house, but maybe not. Anna seems to be headed down the soccer route and Taylor, well we don't know where she is headed quite yet. But for now, this is fun. I feel totally ill during and after swim meets, but it's fun. I love to be there. I love to hear the sound of people swimming. So glad we could make it work this summer for them to be able to do this.
Taylor was upset that I didn't order any individual pictures so she had me take one - what a ham!
For those of you that know T, then you know that this picture describes her perfectly! Her smile is contagious, she is full of energy and she is now the proud owner of a bike without training wheels! Love this girl!
I really can't believe that Ty is 1! This year has flown by and he is doing so much. He is so sweet and has a smile that will melt your heart. He loves his sisters and instantly smiles when he sees them. He waves hi and goodbye, can climb the stairs, dribbles a soccer ball (for real...I think he's really been paying attention at soccer practice!), shoots baskets, loves to get in all the kitchen cabinets, loves Beni, loves water play, loves to be outside, brings you a book and turns and walks backwards to sit in your lap, says dada, ba (ball), pretty sure tata (for Taylor) and other sounds that I think he knows what they mean!, and loves to snuggle. He had such a good time at his birthday party and loved the cake! I hope he doesn't see cake anytime soon because he will want some! Just for fun, here are the 12 month stats:
